Hola!

So here’s the low-down: high school spanish classes totally pay off in the end. Upon arriving with Joe on Thursday and meeting up with Max and Kerry at the airport, we took a cab (without getting swindled into paying too much!) to our real estate agent’s home whereupon I translated for her to the guys. The rest of Thursday was spent helping los chicos move into their apartment while I left my stuff at Teresita’s house to stay for two days until my other two roommates showed up. Dinner = fiasco = buffet of hometown/old county quality.

The next day we spent walking to the various places I learned about from my intensive research of Buenos Aires in the days before I left the states: places from the movie Evita.

Sunday my roommates made it into the country and we all moved into our apartment together. Orientation started on Monday and we’ve been walking around the city and taking public transportation… Buenos Aires has the oldest metro in the Southern hemisphere and one of their lines still uses a wooden tramcar underground.

Today we will be taking a bus around the city and enjoying some wonderful food. I’ll post pictures later but I just wanted to finish the post and get it out there… because it includes:
